We have been preparing and developing a brand new ECO range and we're very proud to say our first products are now available in our Haen healthcare collection!
At Ballyclare, we believe it is our obligation to continue to push and develop products with improved environmental footprint into our ranges and operating processes. Our innovation in garment design is replicated by our innovation into developing clothing using recycled materials whilst maintaining quality, comfort, conformity and durability. We are working with reliable suppliers who have the same aims us to improve sustainability throughout the supply chain and keep logistic operations short and efficient.
Our first ECO products are the result of a programme of development and testing which has been undertaken alongside customers and suppliers. We truly want to make a difference to the natural environment, keeping it cleaner, healthier and greener for this, and generations to come. The fabrics in the ECO range are made with recycled polyester generated from used PET-plastic bottles using state of the art recycling methods that greatly reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing clothing. To ensure we take the best steps in the right direction we are taking a measured and transparent approach.
The Haen healthcare products are our first in the ECO range and we will soon be introducing ECO products into our high visibility workwear range and then our other ranges. Ballyclare wants offer a wider sustainable product range and with our Haen collection we are moving to use sustainable fabrics across the range. From recycled polyester to bio cotton, TENCEL™ Lyocell and the various combinations that are possible, all with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
Our focus as a company has always been to innovate, and the ECO range proves that we can combine innovation with our concern for the environment and still find the right solution.
We have underlined our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint with the launch of the brand new ECO range of Haen healthcare uniforms made from recycled materials. The women's and men's tunics and trousers are manufactured from recycled PET-plastic bottles.
Our ECO range has been designed to help minimise our environmental impact, and to re-use some of the huge volumes of plastic bottle waste that is generated, while at the same time providing the comfort, conformity and durability which people have come to expect from Ballyclare products.
Our focus on sustainability has also prompted to company to introduce other innovative features. These include eliminating the need for traditional product swing labels and hangtags by printing information directly onto labels inside the garments. The ECO garments can be washed normally or laundered industrially.
We uses state-of-the art recycling methods which see the waste plastic bottles shredded into flakes and melted into pellets. These pellets are made into thread that is used to manufacture fabrics.
Our healthcare uniforms include two styles of women's tunics with a choice of seven colour options, a men's tunic with accent colours and two styles of women's white healthcare trousers. The ECO-friendly fabrics garments take nothing away from the comfort and durability of the clothing, each items is designed with the wearer and their job role in mind.
